Periodontal (Gum) Disease
What is Periodontal (Gum) Disease?
Periodontal disease, most often known as gum disease, occurs when bacteria is allowed to infect and damage the gums and underlying bone. This typically occurs because of poor dental hygiene habits and avoiding going for regular dental cleanings. There are three stages of periodontal disease: gingivitis, periodontitis and advanced periodontitis. Different treatment is available at each stage and it is our job to help treat the condition and prevent progression of the disease.
