Advanced Laser Therapy

Advanced laser therapy, normally referred to as LANAP, allows for us to remove unhealthy and infected gum tissue without the need for surgery. The procedure is less painful and less invasive, allowing for quicker recovery time.

Periodontal (Gum) Disease

Periodontal disease, most often known as gum disease, occurs when bacteria is allowed to infect and damage the gums and underlying bone. This typically occurs because of poor dental hygiene habits and avoiding going for regular dental cleanings.

Periodontics

Periodontics is the field of dentistry that involves the gum tissue, ligaments and alveolar bone. Most often, patients are referred to our office because they have periodontal disease or require gum-related surgery.

Scaling and Root Planing

A scaling and root planing is performed in our office as a way to treat gum disease. Gum disease involves a bacterial infection that affects the gum tissue and surrounding bone of your teeth.

Treatments (Non-Surgical)

Non-surgical treatment of gum disease involves a scaling and root planing. The scaling and root planing is done to clean the gum pockets that have formed around the affected teeth.

Treatments – Guided Tissue Regeneration

Guided tissue regeneration is performed on patients who have advanced periodontal disease. Both a bone and soft tissue grafting can be performed in areas where both of these components are inadequate.

Treatments – Pocket Reduction Procedure

Healthy gum tissue fits around each tooth snugly, providing protection from harmful bacteria and infection. When you have gum disease, small pockets form around the teeth that allow bacteria, plaque and other debris to get deep inside.
